How long does it take to get approved?
Our team aims to review all adoption applications as quickly as possible. Most applications are processed within 48 hours. In some cases, approval may take slightly longer if we require additional information, references, or need to conduct a home check. Our priority is ensuring the best possible match between the animal and their new family.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Please bring the following: * A valid South African ID * Proof of address (not older than 3 months) * Written permission from your landlord if you are renting and pets require approval * A secure leash and collar for dogs, or a suitable carrier for cats, if you are taking your new pet home Our team will assist you with any remaining paperwork during your appointment.

Can I adopt if I live in a rental property?
Yes. If you live in a rental property, we may require proof that pets are permitted on the premises before your application can be approved.
Do you conduct home checks?
Yes. Depending on the animal and circumstances, we may conduct a home check before approval. This helps ensure that the environment is safe, secure, and suitable for the animal.
Can I meet the animal before adopting?
Absolutely! We encourage potential adopters to meet the animal before making a commitment. This allows both you and the animal to interact and helps us ensure a good match.
What if the adoption doesn’t work out?
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. If you can no longer care for your adopted pet, please contact Animal Warriors as soon as possible. We will work with you to find the best solution for the animal’s wellbeing.
Do you offer post-adoption support?
Yes. Our team is available to offer advice and guidance after adoption. We want every adoption to be successful and are happy to assist with any questions or concerns.
